The Rostov Region has joined the Youth Business Russia programme

The official Rostov launch of the Youth Business Russia (YBR) programme took place on March 12, 2012.

The agreement to develop young entrepreneurship in the Rostov Region was signed by the Department of Investment and Entrepreneuship, the Rostov Region Committee for Youth Policy, JSC Commercial Bank “Center-Invest” , the Rostov Regional Agency for Entrepreneurial Support, the Rostov Region State Service Department for Employment, the Rostov Region Guarantee Fund (a Non-Profit Organization), the Rostov Region Employer Union, the Rostov Region Chamber of Commerce, the Rostov Region department of OPORA Russia, and large higher education institutions in southern Russia.

Each participant is enacting its own programme to develop entrepreneurship. Joining forces under the Youth Business Russia programme adds new opportunities to each individual programme, and makes it possible to bring them all up to international standards, increasing the efficiency of support for young entrepreneurs in southern Russia.

“The Youth Business Russia programme offers not only discounted loans, but also helps to develop the institution of mentoring. In addition to financial support, young people are also offered the help of individual mentors who can consult on creating a business plan and offer guidance on various issues of running a business. The youth entrepreneurs programme will also receive focussed financial support under regional programmes to develop entrepneurship,” said Boris Tkachenko, head of the International Business Leaders Forum (IBLF) in Russia and head of the YBR programme.

“We must work using an integrated approach to encourage the entrepreneur who is just starting out, so that he or she can confidently stand on his own two feet,” said Svetlana Abdulazizova, director of the Rostov Region Department of Investment and Entrepreneurship.

“Mentorship is an important social issue. We have a lot of young, educated people who cannot find work, because all existing businesses have streamlined their staff. For young people today, the best thing to get in addition to a diploma, is a patent for entrepreneurial activity,” said professor and doctor of economics Vasily Vysokov, chairman of the board at Center-Invest bank.
